Interesting. I wonder if I was the same person, if I'd read all my life only novels.
I wonder if I wholeheartedly believe in our brain, in what he can do, and in the hidden powers of the mind that we have not discovered yet if I had not been exposed to science fiction, fantasy, and books of magicians.
If all my life I was exposed to only thrillers and gang books or novels - maybe I was rejecting with scorn ideas on channeling, healing, telepathy and parallel worlds.
If only I was not subscribed to Ma'ariv youth magazin, and I haven't devoutly read the column "Stranger than imagination",
I was not exposed to scary ghost stories and I was not beginning to believe in something more eternal than the human body.

And so did thousands of other readers?
Sometimes I think the authors of such have connected to the power of the mind, the subconscious, intuition and were therefroe able to describe alternate world.
But maybe the opposite is true? Maybe they connect to a deep desire to be a Creator?
Maybe they did not connect to a real world/future, but were creating a world of words, a world where their readers liked what it had to offer and have secretly desirewd to live in?

Could readers manage to force such creation of their desired world here in our lifetime?

Did Jules Verne predicted the future or did he led to it's creation?
Had science fiction foresaw something or had it caused people begin to strive towards increased mental abilities?

And what about Harry Potter?

I wonder what passes today for millions of children who read Harry Potter and want also to be magicians. Maybe one day they will run into the magician tarot card and will look at it in a different way then their parents have?
Maybe they will hear the phrase a witch and instead fear or dislike will just be curious?
And what will happen next? After curiosity? Openness? A will to understand? Desire to try? And possibly succeed?

Who knows? Maybe my grandchildren will walk around with maces in the streets, shouting words like Difendo or Protego and put a little magic in our lives?
